Fran Daniel Laucerica
Fran Laucerica, a tenor praised by Opera News as “a very promising high tenor,” is quickly gaining recognition for his clarity, agility, and versatility on both operatic and concert stages. A current Resident Artist with Pittsburgh Opera, his recent and upcoming performances include roles in Pagliacci, Tosca, Armida, and the world premiere of Jennifer Higdon’s Woman With Eyes Closed.
Laucerica has appeared with companies such as Virginia Opera, The Glimmerglass Festival, and Opera San José, and made his New York Philharmonic debut in the world premiere of unEarth by Julia Wolfe. He has also performed with the Grammy Award-winning ensemble The Crossing, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s MusicNOW series.
An advocate for new music and a frequent concert soloist, he has appeared in works ranging from Carmina Burana to Messiah, and continues to build a national reputation for compelling, dynamic performances.
Laucerica is a Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition Encouragement Award winner, and holds degrees from Boston Conservatory and Northwestern University.
